Teeth whitening

Although most people have healthy teeth, they do not want to laugh or even open their mouths because they are ashamed of their tooth color. At the point reached today, dentistry goes beyond the limits and offers solutions far beyond the known methods.

Nowadays, many people apply to dentists for aesthetic concerns. Dental aesthetics, which is one of the most talked about topics today, includes many different services. The most important of these applications is teeth whitening, which is done in order to remove the natural color of the teeth due to various factors or to remove the natural color of the teeth from a yellowish color. Teeth whitening aesthetics is carried out with a number of gels containing hydrogen peroxide. These gels used for whitening provide whitening by breaking down the highly pigmented carbon chain components on the tooth surface.

The substances used in teeth whitening treatment release oxygen. With the separation of oxygen from the tooth, the color of the tooth also lightens significantly. This treatment method can be applied to grayish, yellowish and brownish teeth and whitening of teeth is provided.

Post-Treatment Considerations
After teeth whitening treatment, every patient must follow a few rules. If these rules are followed, the success rate of the process will increase. First of all, according to the advice of doctors, consumption of extremely cold or extremely hot food should be avoided for a few days before bleaching. However, foods and beverages that give color should definitely not be used in these first days. Although the first 3 days after teeth whitening are very sensitive, it is still necessary to pay attention to the teeth for about 10 days. After the teeth whitening treatment, dark colored foods such as tea, cigarettes, coffee, fruit juice, cherry, wine, tomato paste and caramel should not be used for 10 days. Otherwise, the whiteness gained may be lost back.

Who is not applicable?
Teeth whitening treatment is generally not applied to patients younger than 16 years old. Because in patients at this age, the nerves of the tooth are wide and the part we call the pulp chamber is also sensitive.

Is there any harm?
Today, one of the subjects that patients are most curious about is whether the teeth whitening treatment harms the teeth. A lot of research has been done on this subject and it has been stated that this method is harmless if applied in a proper hospital.
