Periimplantitis

What is Periimplantitis?
Periimplantitis is an infection in the surrounding tissues of the implant that replaces the tooth. The most important symptom of this disease is loosening of the teeth and bleeding in the gums.

How is Periimplantitis Treated?
First of all, problems such as incorrect filling and tooth coating, if any, should be eliminated. Then the inflamed surrounding tissues should be removed. Good care should be taken after the infected tissues are removed. In this way, the infection can be cured.

Can Periimplantitis Be Treated?
Yeah. In case of early diagnosis, it can be treated easily and quickly. Different procedures can be applied for treatment. The main purpose is to increase the bone tissue, if necessary to remove the inflamed tissues. This extends the life of the implant.

Another method used in the treatment of periimplantitis is laser systems.
