The Ancient City of Tripolis, founded by the Seleucids (Syrian Kingdom) in the middle of the 3rd century AD, has hosted many churches from the day it was founded until the day it was destroyed. Tripolis, the most famous bishopric center of Christianity, has also found its place in the Lydia Bishops List prepared by the Lydia Assembly.
